Gumbo Proud to Facilitate Important Conversation With Local Mayors and Community Leaders in Coastal South Alabama
We are grateful for Senator Katie Boyd Britt's commitment to Alabama’s Gulf Coast and her leadership in supporting the region’s infrastructure, tourism sustainability, and economic development.
GUMBO was proud to facilitate this important conversation with local mayors and community leaders in coastal South Alabama. Our leadership appreciated the opportunity to be part of the dialogue and help advocate for the continued success and vitality of our coast — a true economic engine for the State of Alabama.
APRIL 22, 2025
Last week, GUMBO leaders and stakeholders traveled to Montgomery for our 2025 Policy Summit — a powerful two-day event dedicated to advancing priorities that support sustainable growth and opportunity along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
Over the course of the summit, attendees engaged in meaningful roundtable discussions with key state leaders, including Governor Kay Ivey, Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger Jr., Senate Minority Leader Bobby Singleton, agency heads like Greg Reed of the Alabama Department of Workforce and Lee Sentell of the Alabama Department of Tourism, and Chief of Staff Jess Skaggs with Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth’s office.
From private meetings to a packed legislative reception at Ravello, the summit provided an invaluable platform to connect, advocate, and align around GUMBO’s core policy priorities in education, workforce, infrastructure, and tourism.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success — and to the legislators and agency partners who continue to champion progress for Alabama’s coastal communities!
